The Couture Knitter

(Both: Adam Jones, FW05 via)

I found out about Adam Jones while flipping through some old issues of Vogue. So I've been searching for more info about him on the web. Theere's not a lot of photos of his work, or maybe I just haven't found them yet. Jones graduated from University of Brighton. He's worked for Kenzo and Dior under the direction of Galliano. He is known among insdiers as the couture knitter. He's recently shown his own couture line.

Check out this video from Fashion File, a peek into the designer's studio.

Galliano, the Second

(both: galliano)

Galliano just launched his secondary line at a (somewhat?) more affordable price range. Love the leg warmers, love the fingerless mitts. It's too easy to DIY than buy.

Inspired by the Web

(Left: YSL, FW06, Right: Celine, FW06)

Some more knit inspiration via Style.com. This time web-like designs or mesh. What I like about mesh-like knitting? Easy to do,, looks impressive, and knits up fast!

DIY Baguette

(Fendi Baguettes FW05, also comes in light purple)

Remember these Fendi sacks? Well now there's a knitting pattern similar to this style at Zephyr Style. And it's free! I found this last week when Pinku mentioned her new finished object of a pattern she purchased from them. And I just read that Vanessa has finished one.

Knitwear in the Forefront

(Left: July 2006 issue of W, Right: Max Azria, FW06)

Don't you just love it when knitwear is in the forefront of fashion? It's an obsession of mine. Check out Style.com's slideshow of Fall 2006 knitwear picas, titled A Stitch in Time. And if you have time to hit the newsstand, check out the current issue of W, with Kate Bosworth on the cover. The last editorial features a gorgeous black and white spread of this Fall's knitwear. I always regret not buying a magazine with a spread dedicated to knitwear.
